Mark Howe was great, Kerr could be a monster, Hextall was insane...to me Rick Tocchet WAS the 80's Flyers growing up.
Scoring goals and winning fights....seriously what the poop is cooler than that? |

I'm going with the upset on this one and taking Team Europe. Finland looks past them and takes the game light. EU plays an aggressive and tight checking game converting a couple of low % shots into surprise goals on lucky bounces. It's 3 nothing by the third when the Fins wake up and get nervous scoring 2. By then, it's too late and EU prevails 3-2. |

There's no way that Tocch didn't take that jacket off Rocco DiMeo. |

Tocchet and Brown...my two favorite Flyers pugilists of all time. Man, I miss that era of hockey. |

There are 25 stable votes on this competition. In the first match, there were well over a 100, iirc.

And I hated his reaction to the trade even more! Gonna parade Pen's Stanley Cup down Broad Street or some similar nonsense. Should've been grateful for the great spot the Flyers put him in. |

"To have a championship team, you need an organization with class, and that's where the Flyers are definitely lacking."
You know who said that? Bernie Parent, still upset over how the Flyers handled his trade to Toronto, said that at his press conference when he signed in the WHA with the Philadelphia Blazers.
Should Flyers fans have held an eternal grudge against Bernie because he once said that? Of course not.
Tocch's final year in Philly during his first stint didn't go as he'd hoped as captain, and he had grown frustrated. That spilled out when he went to the Penguins and got in some digs after they won the Cup.
Just as with Bernie, time heals all wounds. Rick looks back very fondly at both of his tenures with the team, as well as his time broadcasting (when he'd drive cross-state routinely). |

How do none of our players have the coronavirus? The Flyers have traveled everywhere this season. We’re very lucky and I am not officially against teams going overseas or expending overseas. |

I haven't been keeping track of other sports at all and only occasionally see tweets about some Avalanche players that had it. My impression is that the infection rate in the NHL in general is really low.
As a percentage of our total population the US infection rate is pretty low, too. |
